STILLWATER, Okla. — Students of Oklahoma State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources attended the annual CASNR Career Fair in Gallagher-Iba Arena on Sept. 13.

More than 100 businesses were represented at this year’s event. CASNR students of all ages attended the career fair to learn more about internship and job opportunities. An estimated 1,143 students attended the career fair, unofficially making this year’s career fair the largest yet.

OSU’s Student Success Coordinator Amy Gazaway was in charge of the event. The main goal of the career fair is to give students an opportunity for networking and deciding their next step after college, rather than getting a job.

One-third of college students continue their education following graduation. Therefore, a quarter of the career fair is devoted to options of continuing education.

With more than 90 volunteers, “the day flowed easier,” Gazaway said.

“We’re all in this together to support students and their career success,” Gazaway said.

Many of OSU’s students find opportunities through the fair. Ethan Gingrich, OSU senior agribusiness major, recently accepted a job at Dow Agrosciences. He was offered interviews for an internship, and ultimately the internship, during the career fair, Gingrich said.

“The CASNR Career Fair created an opportunity for networking,” Gingrich said.

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is a college within Oklahoma State University devoted to majors under the umbrella of agriculture. CASNR has 16 majors and more than 59 options. CASNR works to build close relationships and encourage involvement amongst students.
